When the concert Diana Ross: Live in Central Park was suddenly interrupted by a strong storm, it had to be canceled despite the artist’s efforts to face Mother Nature. Diana announced she will return the next day to play again. Astonishingly, 1.2 million people showed up on Central Park lawn to experience a unique moment in life, a defining moment for a whole generation.
The show toured the world and to portray Diana Ross as an artist who joined ethnicities, nationalities, young and old to admire the artistic act. Besides the full concert that was held the following day, documentary Diana Ross – Life, love and legacy live in Central Park also contains interviews with the artist’s children and news from the archive of those times that document the persistence, determination and super star status of Diana. Together with the concert, the documentary brings to light the three decades of the artist’s inheritance and what made this concert to become emblematic over time.
